LED Illumiation, as well as CFL illumination (Compact Fluorescent Lightsin Spanish CFL), has come to revolutionize the market of lighting given its high efficiency , and sometimes, given by regulations that prohibit or discourage the manufacture of incandescencent light bulbs. The principle is similar to the ionized gas tubes, thanks to the action of a diode.
The first LED application was on indicators of electrical panels and electronic components. In a second phase they were used as ornamental lighting that could be found in some Christmas decorations and lantern-based lighting system.
LED bulbs mimic the effect of a classic bulb through a cluster of up to 200 small lighting units, whose purpose is to be able to be screwed in conventional caps. The beam produced by these small units is expanded with diffusers and lenses that spread the beam according to the desired lighting effect. This is so because unlike incandescent lighting systems, LED lighting is essentially unidirectional, which resulted in its domestic use being limited to study lamps.
