Shoals Technologies Group, a specialist in photovoltaic OEM and balance of systems components, and Powerway Renewable Energy, a supplier of mounting structures, announce the signing of a strategic alliance agreement to jointly develop the photovoltaic market in South Africa and other countries in the African continent.
Through the strategic alliance Shoals Technologies Group and Powerway Solar Solutions South Africa have established a joint venture enabling the production of Shoals' balance of systems components, at a newly acquired state-of-the-art facility in Coega, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Powerway has set up a production facility in Boksburg & Durban, South Africa, making Solar Tracker and Fixed Tilt Mounting Structures. The company will start production of PV products, including modules, as the Coega facility.
Powerway and Shoals will work together to provide local solutions to EPCs and solar farm developers in the South African and the Sub-Saharan market, allowing PV power plant investors to increase their local content level; together with the assurance of high quality products.
