Spanish PV solar supplier firm Proinso has expanded its growing presence in Africa to South Africa.
The company has opened a new branch office in Cape Town under its strategic partnership with the local company African Solar Power.
Proinso’s aim is to enhance the company’s presence in local solar market across the South Africa as the company predicts the local PV power industry to have more than 8,000MW installed by 2020.
It added that it was aiming to capitalise on Africa's solar resources, which average between 4.5 and 6.5kWh/m2 per day.
The company has formed business relations with installers in Algeria, Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa and Ivory Coast.
