In response to this crisis, the Premier of Gauteng, in tandem with industry, will convene an inaugural Jobs Summit in March, 2017. Coordinated by the Ubuntu Initiative, the Summit will bring together leaders from key growth sectors to roll out skills development and employment opportunities for 100 000 unemployed youth in Gauteng in 2017.
In the lead up to the Summit, organisers will engage with prominent stakeholders from industry sectors. Industry task teams will be formed to identify constraints and formulate solutions to labour market absorption in the province.
Accordingly, you are invited to attend, or send a senior representative to the Energy Task Team start-up meeting.
