
Invest SA a division of the Department of Trade and Industry South Africa in conjunction with the Southern African Alternative Energy Association (SAAEA) will participate in a Renewable Energy Outward Investment Mission to Madrid and Barcelona in Spain to look at investment opportunities on behalf of the South African Renewable Energy Sector.Workshops and meetings will be arranged and site visits to various Renewable energy manufacturing plants like Solar PV, roof top PV, CSP, Wind energy manufacturing plants and other alternative energy manufacturing plants. One on one business meetings, with potential Spanish partners will also be arranged.

Departure from Madrid to South Africa in the evening
The Spanish Renewable Energy Association (APPA) is the reference association of renewable energy in Spain. It brings together more than 500 companies and entities that carry out all clean technologies like biofuels, biomass, wind, geothermal, hydro, marine, small wind, solar photovoltaic and concentrated solar power. The South African Embassy in Spain will work closely with APPA to facilitate the Renewable Energy Outward Investment Mission in Spain.

Participants are to cover their own travel cost and accommodation expenses; however the dti can assist a limited number of companies with travel cost and accommodation subject to approval according to EMIA’s (Export Marketing and Investment Assistance) rules and regulations. Should interest prove more than the available number, companies will go through an internal selection process to determine EMIA assistance.
