Every day, individuals drive around with empty seats in their cars, and with many commuting journeys being single occupancy, most cars on our roads have at least three empty seats in them. Empty seats waste road space and, indirectly, money & environment.
FindaLift is South Africa’s first local provider of specialised journey-matching network solutions and services. Since 2010 we have run a national initiative, called Findalift.co.za, that offers a journey-matching platform absolutely free to South Africans and now has built momentum with over 7350 active members. For every journey shared there is a car taken off the road, reducing CO2, the consumption of fossil fuels, congestion and helping people be punctual.
How it works:
Findalift.co.za makes the communications process as easy as ABC by providing simple and FREE online tools to help you make better use of the empty seats in your cars and to find others travelling your way. As a new member simply register for free, create a journey on the system and ‘search for matches’. Once a potential match has been found secure contact can be made through the website and arrangements to share the journey can be communicated between members.
Private Group 4 Business
To keep the service free for members, we work with organisations, universities, business parks and other defined communities (for a nominal fee) to implement Private Rideshare Groups/ Programmes to help their members travel more sustainably, benefit their pockets and keep track of their estimated environmental savings.
