This highly sought after role will be based in Cape Town and will allow the successful candidate to be responsible for the management of all of the company’s operational service functions within South Africa, as well as ensuring effective communications are maintained with all shareholders. The O&M Manager will also be responsible for all global interfaces and interactions to ensure that the client’s customers receive the best service possible and to ensure that the company continues to develop best practices on a national and global scale.
The Operations and Maintenance Manager’s duties will also include reviewing reports, developing short and long term strategies, and taking on the responsibility of managing all HR functions with regards to the hiring, support, training, and termination of employees.
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary engineering qualification (B Eng/ MEng Electrical, DC/AC certified)
Experience in Solar PV or other related electrical systems
5+ years in a management position focusing on customer related issues and handling remote service processes
Strong experience in O&M as well as planning and development
3+ years’ experience in sourcing, motivating, training and developing employees
Proven leadership and management skills
Experience liaising with stakeholders and key individuals
Ability to work with a team in a customer orientated environment
Experience in managing contracts and SLA’s
Proficient in MS Office and able to grasp other software programs fast
Good Understanding of TCP/IP Networks
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Willing to travel as needed for up to 60% of the time and do fault testing on sites
Additional Requirements:
A good understanding of the REIPPP procurement programme
