Minimum requirements:
1.Electrical engineering, BSc. Eng / National Diploma (or equivalent).
2.Minimum five (5) years of progressive maintenance experience ideally in power generation or similar industrial plant.
3.Contract management and administration experience
4.Knowledge of tendering process
5.Staff management or supervisory experience
6.Ideally, some O&M plant experience with or knowledge of solar PV power generation.
7.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with plant SCADA process control systems.
8.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with operation and maintenance of medium voltage switchgear and circuit breakers, protective relay systems, inverters, and high voltage transformers and high voltage switching.
9.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with high voltage electrical safety procedures
10.Demonstrated knowledge of environmental requirements and practices.
11.Ideally holder of a Pr. Eng. or Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) or willing/able to work towards attaining this
Skills:
1. Technical, Operational, Maintenance skills: solar PV panels and inverters, SCADA/process controllers, high voltage transformers and equipment, medium voltage electrical switchgear and protective systems, electrical relays and testing equipment, operations and maintenance procedures, environmental regulations and plant safety procedures.
2. Supervision, Planning & Management skills: maintenance planning, preparing tenders for contractor work and evaluating bids, optimising plant performance.
3. Communications skills: Well organised and responsive in all communications including clear, concise e-mails; adept at writing reports.
