Dorper has been developed by Rainmaker with equity partners including Sumitomo Corporation and broad-based black economic empowerment partners, including a community trust.
The scheme is situated in the Eastern Cape, where Rainmaker has environmental approval for more than 500MW of new wind power.
The project is one of eight Wind Energy Independent Power Producer contracts awarded by Energy Minister Dipuo Peters in December 2011.
