In a public research project funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, we are currently analysing medium-deep and high-temperature (HT) Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES) projects from different disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. In a first stage, we collect data on existing, abandoned or planned projects worldwide. Since these data are not all publicly available and mostly difficult to find, we decided to send requests to geothermal energy and district heating associations all over the world and other organizations that are likely to provide us with any useful information.
