AECF has opened its first ever Renewable Energy and Adaptation to Climate Technologies (REACT) Window specifically for Mozambique on 18 March 2013. Through the provision of grant and grant funding, AECF REACT Mozambique window seeks to promote risk-taking and innovation to encourage established businesses to extend their core activities in ways that create opportunities for the rural poor.
For REACT Mozambique AECF is keen to encourage business ideas that have an adaptation to climate change component and could make the case for this by, for example, linking the idea to reduced vulnerability of rural people. Further, there is strong receptivity to proposals that:
demonstrate both adaptation together with low carbon benefits and/or adaptation with underpinning financial services
are planned to take place in particularly vulnerable ecological zones.
