Shopping centers demand a large amount of electricity which is costly and harmful to the environment. The main objective for the installation was to ensure optimal ROI whilst maximizing savings by taking advantage of renewable resources. With an annual energy output of 800 MWh and a daily yield of 2,000 kWh, the installation is expected to offset the majority of the energy costs for decades to come.
The project consists of 1,250 units of Canadian solar modules which are designed to withstand the unpredictable and harsh South African climate.
